OVER THE RHINE

Hosting and curating Nowhere Else Festival is undoubtedly one of the highlights of our musical year. It’s almost unbelievable to contemplate all the great music that has happened right here on the farm over the last decade or so, in what is technically referred to as our back yard. But also, we are always amazed and humbled by the incredible team and all the volunteers that coalesce around us and the festival, to help make it all such a warm, open-hearted gathering.

This year we’ll be marking 35 years of making music together as Over the Rhine. Sometimes we’re not sure anymore if we should say the numbers out loud, but the truth is we’ve never been more grateful to have music be an ever-present part of our lives. And we are more convinced than ever: music heals.

Music can still bring all sorts of diverse people together. Songs are safe containers for our shared pain, our shared humanity, and our shared dreams for a better, more loving world.

Someone said we need priests and preachers to remind us that one day we’re going to die. But we need poets, and artists, and musicians to remind us, We’re not dead yet.

It’s true. We’re still here. We’re still alive. And as Karin said in a recent new song, Don’t forget to celebrate.

We truly hope you’ll join us.
